エッチ Action Alert

エッチ Post flyers about anti-war events at area colleges, churches, clubs, and libraries

Many of you have asked "what can I do to help get the word out." Between 300-600 people showing up regularly every Sunday at the peace protests in the Plaza in the build-up to the war. These numbers represent the largest regular turnout against war since the opposition to the Vietnam War. However, there are 1.8 million people in the KC metro area, many of which are against the war but do not know there are weekly protests or informational events.

エッチ Here is where you can help:

1. Download one of the flyers below and make copies of the flyers.

エッチ Misleader" campaign action flyer from AFSC and KC Iraq Task Force (Adobe PDF format, 7/27/03)
KC Iraq Task Force on "Where Are the Weapons of Mass Destruction" - 2-page leaflet (Adobe PDF format 7/26/03)

Coffeehouses, stores, and other commercial locations where people gather

エッチ Anti-War Leafletting: WAR IS NOT ON OUR SHOPPING LIST!

Get the word out to others about opposing the war. Help distribute flyers at shopping areas and other locations.

Get a group together in your own neighborhood or join others at designated spots. The flyers will show the high cost of war. They will be available at the anti-war vigils at the JC Nichols fountain Sundays or by contacting Jan Cebula at (816) 561-0631 or jonion@juno.com. Also let Jan know which location you are going to so others can join you.

Post the time and place of your group leafletting on the website so others can join you by sending an email to info@kciraqtaskforce.org.  Include the time, date, meeting place, and organization sponsoring the leafletting.

SUGGESTIONS for forming your own group to distribute flyers: Pick a location that has heavy foot traffic. Unless you have obtained permission from the owner of the property, try to stay on public property such as a public sidewalk. If you are asked to move because you are on private property, inquire about where the property line is. Do not put flyers on cars. When greeting and talking with people remember we are trying to get others to join us! (Please look around for and pick up any discarded flyers before you leave the area.) Thanks and have fun!
